3. INFORMATION WE COLLECT ABOUT YOU, HOW WE COLLECT AND RETAIN IT.
We collect several types of information from and about users of the Site, including information:
a. By which you may be personally identified, such as name, postal address, e-mail address, location (city and state), Utility Account Credentials, Utility Data, and any other information the Site collects that is defined as personal or personally identifiable information under applicable law (“personal information”);
b. That is about you but individually does not identify you; and
c. About your internet connection, the equipment you use to access the Site and usage details.
We collect this information:
i. Directly from you when you provide it to us through your Account on the Site or through your participation in a Challenge;
ii. Automatically as you navigate through the Site. Information collected automatically may include usage details, IP addresses, and information collected through cookies, web beacons, and other tracking technologies; and
iii. From third-parties to whom you have provided personal information and have authorized to share such information with us, for example, your Utility and our licensors and partners providing content on the Site.
We will retain any information we collect from you only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use this information only to the extent necessary to keep the data in your Account during its activation or deactivation, or to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.
We will also retain your usage details for internal analysis purposes. Usage details may be retained for a shorter period of time at our discretion, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of our Services, or we are legally obligated to retain this data for longer time periods.
4. INFORMATION YOU PROVIDE TO US. The information we collect that you provide to us on or through the Site may include:
a. Information that you choose to provide us through the Site. This includes information provided at the time of registering to use the Site or used to request services from us or from third-parties via the Site (including identifiers such as your name, location, email, Utility Account Credentials, and Utility Data). Certain of this information is optional to provide. We may also ask you for information when you report a problem with the Site.
b. Records and copies of your correspondence (including email addresses), if you contact us.
c. Your responses to surveys that we might ask you to complete.
d. Your search queries or activity logs on the Site. This “log data” may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing the Site, the time and date of your use of the Site, and other statistics.
5. INFORMATION WE COLLECT THROUGH THIRD-PARTIES & AUTOMATIC DATA COLLECTION TECHNOLOGIES. As you navigate through and interact with the Site, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns, including details of your use of the Site and device and internet connection, including your IP address, operating system, and browser type.
The information we collect automatically may include personal information, or we may maintain it or associate it with personal information we collect in other ways or receive from third-parties. It helps us to improve the Site and to deliver a better and more personalized service, including by enabling us to:
a. Estimate our audience size and usage patterns;
b. Store information about your preferences, allowing us to customize the Site according to your individual interests;
c. Speed up your searches; and
d. Recognize you when you return to the Site.
The technologies we use for this automatic data collection may include:
i. Google Analytics (Google LLC). Google Analytics is a web analysis service provided by Google LLC. Google utilizes personal information collected to track and examine the use of the Site, to prepare reports on its activities, and to share them with other Google services. Google may use the personal information collected to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network.
ii. Platform Services and Hosting. These services have the purpose of hosting and running key components of the Site, therefore allowing the provision of the Site from within a unified platform. Such platforms provide a wide range of tools to the Owner (such as analytics, user registration, commenting, database management, e-commerce, payment processing) that imply the collection and handling of personal information.
iii. Displays of Content from Third-Party Platforms. This service allows you to view content hosted on external platforms directly from the pages of the Site and interact with them. This type of service might still collect web traffic data for the pages where the service is installed, even when users do not use it.
iv. Tag Management. This service helps us manage the tags or scripts needed on the Site in a centralized fashion. This results in your personal information collected flowing through these services, potentially resulting in the retention of personal information by Google Tag Manager, a service provided by Google LLC, the tag management service we use.
We also may rely on certain third-party services to help us collect and analyze this information. The collection and use of this information is governed by the privacy policies of the relevant thirdparty. To view the privacy policies applicable to the collection and use of information from you by these third-parties, please see our Terms of Service.
The Site may also contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by us. Therefore, we strongly advise you to review the privacy policy of these websites. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services presented to you via the Site.
